To schedule a flight lesson with us, please create a login on HoldShort using the link below:
Once you have created a login, you will be able to schedule time with an instructor for an aircraft. It is best to schedule regardless of the weather forecast; they are wrong more often than not. We can evaluate the forecast the day before or the day of your lesson. If we cancel due to weather, that is no problem. If you schedule and do not show up, we do not appreciate that as it deprives another student of an opportunity to take that slot. If you need to cancel, please do so as far in advance as possible so we can fill your slot. If a student cancels at the last minute or does not show without a legitimate reason, we may remove their ability to schedule and they will have to fly standby. There may be times that we need to cancel due to mechanical issues, TFR’s and such. We will make every effort to give you as much advance notice as possible.
If you are simply interested in taking an introductory lesson, you do not need to bring anything. (Please read the “What to Expect” page to know how to dress, etc.) If you choose to pursue flight training, we will need the requirements listed for first time students, but you do not need them for an introductory lesson. You may schedule an introductory lesson for as little as 15 minutes if you’d like, or you can schedule up to an hour. If you would like to schedule an hour and divide it between 2-4 people, that works also. We realize that a lot of people have a flight lesson on their bucket list to see if they enjoy it. We are happy to accommodate! But be warned, flying can be very addicting!
First Time Students:
Please bring a copy of your birth certificate or passport. This is a TSA requirement to verify citizenship. We are required to keep a copy of one of these documents on file. If you have a logbook, please bring that also. If you do not, we have new logbooks for sale. Also, please fill out the Student Info Form and email it to us prior to your lesson, or bring it with you. Please let us know if you are interested in training for a sport or private license, ultralight, tailwheel endorsement, transition training or flight review. This information will help us prepare for your training. If you are interested in primary training, we will need to take some time to set you up in the FAA’s IACRA website to complete the application for a student pilot license. That process takes about 30 minutes.
Pilots Seeking Transition or Tailwheel Training:
Please be sure to bring your pilot certificate, logbook, driver’s license and/or medical if you have one. Also, if this is the first time flying with us, please fill out the Student Info Form and email to us or bring it with you.
Pilots Seeking a Flight Review:
Please be sure to bring your pilot certificate, logbook, driver’s license and/or medical if you have one. If this is the first time flying with us, please fill out the Student Info Form and email to us or bring it with you. Also, please fill out and email to us the Flight Review Form. If you would like to use any wings credit, please bring that along as well.
